Gross Merchandise Value (GMV)
Gross Merchandise Value (GMV) refers to the total transaction volume processed through the OVERTAKE platform over a defined period, typically measured in USD.
It serves as the foundational metric that drives all token-economic mechanisms, including platform revenue, buyback demand, and reward allocation.
Formal Definition: Let T be the set of all successful trades on the platform within a given time window. Then,
GMV = Σ (Price_t × Quantity_t)
where:
Price_t is the USD price per unit in trade t
Quantity_t is the number of units exchanged in trade t
Scope of Inclusion:
Game item sales
Account transfers
In-game currency trades
Package or bundled transactions
Scope of Exclusion:
Failed or canceled transactions
Internal token transfers not tied to a marketplace exchange
Strategic Role of GMV:
Fee Base: Platform revenue is calculated as a fixed percentage of GMV.
Buyback Driver: A portion of the collected fees is allocated to token buybacks, directly linking GMV to $TAKE demand.
Reward Anchor: Agent incentives are distributed based on the GMV impact of their activity.
By establishing a deterministic link between user behavior and GMV, and between GMV and token demand, the OVERTAKE platform ensures that the $TAKE token value is grounded in real economic throughput.
