# Governance

### Overview

Governance is the cornerstone of the **Take ecosystem**, enabling contributors to collectively guide its evolution through **transparent participation, discussion, and coordination**.

The **Take Foundation** facilitates this process by maintaining the **governance forum**, publishing proposals and reports, and ensuring accessibility and procedural integrity.\
It does **not** act as an authority or guarantee the implementation of specific outcomes.

The governance framework is designed to evolve organically through contributor insight, participation, and innovation.\
As the ecosystem matures, governance will progressively shift from advisory participation to **autonomous, contributor driven coordination**, reflecting the decentralization goals of the Foundation’s mission.

#### Principles of TAKE Governance

1. **Transparency** - All proposals, discussions, and outcomes are publicly accessible and verifiable
2. **Participation through Contribution** - Voting influence reflects authentic engagement in the ecosystem, including $TAKE staking, verified marketplace participation, and evangelistic activities
3. **Progressive Decentralization** - Governance authority expands naturally with ecosystem maturity, gradually transferring influence from early stewards to a broader contributor base
4. **Rule-based Integrity** - Proposal reviews, discussion timelines, and executions follow published, auditable procedures that prevent unilateral or discretionary actions
5. **Alignment with Purpose** - All governance activities must align with the **Take Foundation’s mission** to advance the **adoption, acceleration, and decentralization** of the Take ecosystem

#### Governance Framework

The TAKE governance system operates across **three procedural layers**, ensuring clarity, fairness, and decentralization throughout the decision process:

1. **Proposal Layer (Ideation & Submission)**

 Any verified contributor may propose updates, integrations, or ecosystem initiatives.\
 Proposals must follow a standardized format that includes:

 * Purpose and rationale
 * Measurable impact or success metrics
 * Implementation approach

 Submissions are posted on the **Governance Forum**, where contributors can review and discuss them during a predefined public discussion period.
2. **Deliberation & Voting Layer (Community Signaling)**

 Contributors express preferences through **$TAKE-based signaling**, weighted by verified participation in the ecosystem.\
 This weighting model integrates:

 * Staked $TAKE,
 * Verified marketplace or platform activity,
 * Development or infrastructure contributions, and
 * Community or evangelistic engagement.

 This structure ensures that **voting influence is earned through contribution**, not passive capital holding, and that decisions reflect the **collective judgment of active ecosystem participants.**
3. **Implementation Layer (Review & Execution)**

 Approved proposals progress through structured review phases that assess **security, feasibility, and resource implications**.\
 Where feasible, proposals are implemented via **automated or contributor-executed processes**, minimizing managerial discretion.
The **Take Foundation’s role** is limited to ensuring procedural clarity, publishing results, and maintaining documentation, not to deciding outcomes or directing execution.

#### Transparency & Reporting

To preserve trust and accountability:

* All governance discussions and proposals will be hosted on a public forum
* Periodic Governance Reports will summarize active proposals, voting outcomes, and execution statuses once the Forum is mature enough to run autonomously
* A public Governance Dashboard will track proposal lifecycles, voting participation, and status changes in real time once the Forum is mature enough to run autonomously

These measures ensure that every contributor has the same access to governance information, eliminating asymmetries of power or knowledge.

#### Summary

The TAKE governance model is a living system, participatory, adaptive, and accountable.

It enables contributors to shape the network's direction while maintaining the Foundation's role as a neutral steward and guardian of procedural integrity.

Through continued participation, contributors collectively advance the Take Foundation's mission to accelerate decentralized digital commerce through the power of shared coordination.
